First off, let me say… this isn’t going to be a pretty week ladies and gents…
This week’s 52-two on Friday theme is ‘vintage’. Now, rather than take a picture of a child in vintage clothes.. or a flower with a vintage texture.. I decided to take a picture of something truly vintage…
You see that terrifyingly ugly stuffed lion below? Well, not long ago my mother rediscovered this lion in an box of toys from when I was young. She was as delighted as an archaeologist would be finding a Pharaohs tomb buried in the Egyptian desert. She lovingly rescued my old, tired lion.. washed him.. even attempted to brush out it’s giant dread-lock mane.. then, if that weren’t enough, one horrible Sunday morning she presented my son with it as if it were the most amazing unicorns-and-rainbows-magical surprise ever…
Well, Felix fell under a spell… He fell in love with the old lion. Truly, madly, deeply. He chitters and chatters to him all day long.. telling him secrets and tall tales and all kinds of boyish stuff..
He has been christened Creepy… because, creepy he is… and because Felix loves him so, I just can’t bare to throw him out. No matter how much I’d love to…
Friends, meet Creepy, our vintage lion………………. sigh.
Sadly, this week Gigi won’t be joining us as she and her children have had to evacuate their home in Japan. They are safe and sound and are on their way to family in America… Our thoughts and prayers will be with her and her family during this unimaginable time. We love you Gigi!! xoxoxo
Now, let’s go check out the super fabulous and always creative Hannah of Hannah Mayo Photography | South Florida Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer!!

LOL! How funny! Actually, I admit to finding him pretty cute!
Lol. He doesn’t look too creepy in the pic…how funny shauna
Are you kidding me?! Ugh. He’s so gross.. his mane is all hard and matted.. and his teeth go in every direction.. maybe it’s just me! LOL
Loved that story and what a great photo! I have a bear from the day I was born that is still on my bed and he’s just like that, matted up and full stiches and I cant let go. Felix will have the lion forever just because it bugs u! lol
So funny! I love that he likes your lion!
Hi Creepy! I love your name and when I got married i had to accept an equally as creepy horse named Marvel. He would have broken my camera if I had taken his picture. :0
Nice shout out to Gigi’s family. That was great!
Shauna, you are so funny! I think those old-school eyes are what make him so creepy… That and his size!! Love your processing on this one, Shauna!!
Oh my God. I laughed and chuckled through your entire post. I love that you have named him Creepy.this is a perfect interpretation!
Haha that is pure awesome. Love it.
oh my I love his name…and I love your story and picture. It is so adorable. Kiddos don’t care if their friends are vintage-y do they?
Great interpretation of vintage-y. Sorry, but I love Creepy too – he reminds me of my much loved (translate that tattered n torn) Teddy bear. The only stuffed animal I ever had as a child. I know why Felix loves him – some how it’s an extension of his love for you.
Funny! Why is it that kids always latch on to the one thing we’d rather them not?!?
Oh this is too funny. My mother does the exact same thing and it drives me nuts!! Love the dred-locked mane!!
oh that is fabulous!
love the moment you captured, shauna!
your son is precious and creepy looks well loved!
So cute. Love that he is old:) My little girl loves ANY stuffed animal. He reminds me of her.
I kinda like creepy… and one day… you will do the same for your grandkids… just you wait!
